- Carrier Oils -

What are Carrier / Vegetable / Base Oils?

Carrier oils are oils derived from seeds or fruits, usually obtained by a cold-pressing process. Unlike essential oils, they do not have a strong aroma and are not volatile. They can be used as a vehicle to dilute Essential Oils (as they facilitate their absorption) or used for massage for their own benefits.

Carrier oils are largely composed of fatty acids, which are very important to the body. They are an important source of energy because they are a component in building and maintaining healthy body cells.
